God's Got This

“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

We live in a world where chaos abounds and we want to feel secure when things are uncertain all around us .With the knowledge of this blessed truth we can be calm in times of trouble. We understand and have experienced a lot of storms in our area the last couple of years.  It seems like almost every few weeks a tornado comes near our area and causes great devastation. He tells us to be calm in the time of a storm.  Christ, you remember, was in a storm with His disciples, and He went to sleep.  When they roused Him from sleep, He had more trouble calming the disciples than He had calming the storm.  Many of us are like those men.  We don’t know what it is to wait patiently on God.

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to be in the midst of a storm with very strong straight line winds.  I can tell you that when you are in the midst of strong winds, flying debris and pounding rain, you really do not have time to think about a course of action.  The only thing I could do was pray and God brought a peace and calmness in the midst of that terrible storm.  You may be experiencing a storm that has absolutely nothing to do with the weather but you can rest assure that God is with you in your storm.

I know it’s a catchy phrase “Gods got this” that we often hear people say but the truth is God has you and He loves you and only wants the absolute best for you.

My prayer for you today whatever your storm may be and if there is no storm today is to be still and trust God in all things.
