If You Don’t Use It, You Loose It

I have forgot so much!  I was engrossed in agriculture for the first half of my adult life..  I studied plants and insects.  I knew scientific names of most of the trees and shrubs that were native to West Tennessee.  I also new the best ways to grow those plants and how to protect them from pathogens and predators.
That part of my life stopped around 15 years ago.  I don’t think about those facts anymore.  Therefore I have lost the knowledge I once lived by.

Relationship can be similar.  Dear friends of your past have fallen away simply because you do not seem them on a regular basis.  You may still consider them a friend but you have drifted away for a real relationship.

Our relationship with God suffers with out a daily quite time.  Jesus practice this type of relationship with God the Father.  “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there” (Mark 1:35).

A disciple grows on a daily basis by spending time with Jesus.  Just as Jesus went to a secluded place to meet with His Father, so are we should pull away form the busyness of life to spend quiet, personal moment with our Lord and Savior.

Spend personal, quiet time with God even when you don’t feel like.  Spend your moment with Jesus by reading the Bible, mediating on what you read, and praying over those thoughts.  Remember that these actions are not just apart of a daily check list but a tool to help your relationship with the Lord prosper.
